Please be as thorough as possible when answering. Complete answers go a long way towards matching the best pups for the best families. Filling out the application is not a guarantee of approval. I require a $500 deposit to hold a boy for approved families. Your deposit is not refundable in the event that you change your mind, purchase a pup from another breeder, etc. Once approved you may send me a $500 deposit. The 2022 litters were the final litters born and raised at Magic Hour Poodles. Any poodles listed as available now are adult poodles.

How did you hear about Magic Hour Poodles?

1) What has drawn you to the standard poodle? Have you researched the poodles needs? Owned a poodle in the past?

Other breeds in the past? At what age did you acquire pup and how long did you own pup? Have you rehomed a dog in the past, why? What were your favorite/least favorite traits of your dog(s)?

2.) Do you prefer a male or female/black or brown? Why?

3.) Do you have a fenced yard? What size? If you don’t have a fenced yard how do you plan to exercise your standard poodle puppy? Any hazards that need to be taken into consideration? (Pool, nearby highway, neighbors with aggressive dogs?)

4.) What are your training beliefs? Do you plan to attend puppy training classes? Do you have or know a trainer who can help with any issues requiring hands on assistance?

5.) Do you have a groomer? If so, please list name and phone number. If not, do you need a referral in your area or do you have a groomer in mind?

Do you wish to learn to groom your poodle yourself? Standard poodles must be groomed regularly, recommended at LEAST every 8 weeks for a full groom.

6.) How often will the puppy be alone? How will the puppy be confined when not supervised? Who will care for the puppy when you are out of town?

7.) What is your primary purpose for this puppy? Are you interested in performance events: rally, agility, obedience, hunting etc?

Do you understand that this pup is sold on a spay/neuter agreement and will not be used for breeding? Are you interested in conformation showing and breeding? Although rare I do occasionally sell on a show contract.

8.) Are you aware of the health problems that plague the breed? Even with careful breeding practices, it falls on the owner to nourish the pup in a healthy manner as recommended by the breeder.

9.) What are the ages of the family members in your household? Other pets? Ages? Sizes? Frequent home visitors? Any health issues to take into consideration? Who will be the primary caregiver for your pup?
